ABOUT ME
I am a Registered Social Worker who specializes in counselling for men and male adolescents. My practice is grounded in honesty, compassion, and the belief that men deserve a space where they can speak openly without judgment or pressure to “man up”.
For nearly two decades, I’ve supported individuals and families across education, mental health, and child welfare settings. I’ve worked with organizations including the Canadian Mental Health Association, Sir Sandford Fleming College, the PVNC Catholic District School Board, and Kawartha-Haliburton CAS. Throughout these roles, I’ve had the privilege of helping people through crisis, supporting adolescents, practicing trauma-informed care, and walking alongside clients as they build long-term strategies for growth and well-being.
But my passion for men’s mental health didn’t come from professional experience alone—it also comes from my own story.
Like many men, I spent years trying to tough things out, pushing down my feelings, and numbing stress in ways that didn’t align with who I wanted to be. Reaching out for support was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Through therapy, I was able to access clarity, insight, and a level of self-acceptance I never thought possible. It allowed me to feel comfortable in my own skin, to show up as my authentic self, and to build a life that reflects my values.
Opening up about my own experiences helped me realize just how many men around me were struggling silently, waiting for someone to give them permission to talk, to feel, and to ask for help. Since then, I’ve been committed to creating spaces where men can be heard, understood, and supported to live the lives they deserve.
As a therapist, I use CBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based approaches to help clients gain insight, reduce distress, and create lasting change. My goal is to meet you where you’re at and walk with you toward where you want to be.
Outside of my professional life, I’m a father, husband, son, brother, and friend. I’m a sports enthusiast, an occasional video-game player, and someone who loves a good Netflix binge. I enjoy reading, low-key nights with family and friends, and going for walks with my Golden Retriever. These parts of my life keep me grounded, grateful, and connected to what matters most.
